International slate, led by US communication expert Helen Osman, elected as officers of SIGNIS
Brussels, December 1, 2009 (SIGNIS) - From 17 to 21 October 2009, more than 600 media and development professionals, Catholic communicators and young people urged the media to stand up for children at the SIGNIS World Congress in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It is now time to look back at a “Congress for change” that was all about looking forward - to the children and tomorrow's promise.
We invite you to visit our website www.signisworldcongress.net where you can download all documents relating to the Congress, including keynotes, newsletters and Peter Malone's book on The Emergence of SIGNIS, find all the articles about the Congress, look at the videos about children's rights produced by the VJs, SIGNIS and BICE, and view all the photos of the main events including the opening ceremony, children and VJs showcases and celebration of the 80 years of SIGNIS. If you want to see even more photos, you can visit SIGNIS-Thailand's website as well as the Flickr gallery of the Diocese of Chiang Mai.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the participants, keynote speakers, workshops facilitators and of course, the local organizers and staff, for making this a Congress to remember. Thanks to them, we can now look back to the Congress with joy, and look to the future with inspiration and confidence.
