Quito, February, 14th, 2017 (SIGNIS ALC). The association of catholic communicators of Paraguay (ACCP SIGNIS Paraguay) and SIGNIS Mexico have elected their new directions, a few months away from the SIGNIS World Congress in Quebec, Canada.


New direction of SIGNIS Mexico

The Catholic Association for Communication in Mexico, SIGNIS Mexico, held its annual assembly during which the outgoing president explained the report of the association from the previous period, before holding the election for the new board of directors. Ricardo Cruz is the new president, while José Luis Espinosa and Carlos Valles are the new secretary and treasurer. Father Ángel Lorente has been reelected as the ethical consultant.

SIGNIS Mexico is a non-profit organization founded in 2005 which aims to promote dignity, social development and communication between communities. It is a member of SIGNIS and SIGNIS Latin America and Caribbean (SIGNIS ALC) and is recognized by the Episcopal conference of Mexico.

The assembly started with the celebration a mass presided by Mgr Franco Coppola, Apostolic Nuncio. The agenda of the meeting included the reading of the SIGNIS ALC mandate, the analysis “Mexico seen from SIGNIS”, the president’s report, messages from Carlos Ferraro, SIGNIS ALC president and Gustavo Andújar, SIGNIS president, the convocation to the SIGNIS World Congress in June, the presentation of the “Hispanics SIGNIS” project, working agreements for 2017 and the election of the new board.

Election in Paraguay

The association of catholic communicators of Paraguay (ACCP SIGNIS Paraguay) held its general assembly in order to elect its new board members and the report of the outgoing director.

In a fraternal atmosphere, the members of the ACCP defined the main lines of action for the new period (2017-2019) and elected Christina Maciel Puigbonet and Omar Bogado as the new President and Vice-President.

The other members of the new board are: María José Centurión, Mónica Fabiola Ayala and Karina Benítez, as regular members, and Estela Núñez, Gabriela Rivas and Emilio Fleitas as deputy members.
The new team is committed to follow the work of the previous team, which is to promote the strengthening of the organization and all its members.
