International St. Francis de Sales Days: A motivating meeting to continue to communicate in the service of the truth
“Media and Truth” theme of Vatican-led, Catholic journalists’ conference in Lourdes
Young communicators from eleven Latin American countries participate in the SIGNIS-ALC training programme
During its World Congress, SIGNIS will have the great opportunity to share an entire day with the participants of the Catholic Press Association’s (CPA) annual conference: the Catholic Media Conference (CMC). This joined day will be on June, 21st, and will be the closing day of the SIGNIS Congress, as well as the opening day of the CMC.
The goal of that day is to build relationships between the members of these two organisations and to discuss around the theme “Stories of Hope”.
The day will be divided in 4 blocks: one plenary session, and 3 break-out sessions, during which case studies will be presented.

- 09:00 – 10:00 am: Plenary
- 10:30 – 11:30 pm: Session #1 by medium
- 01:30 – 02:45 pm: Session #2 by theme
- 03:15 – 04:15 pm: Session #3 by medium
- 06:30 – 07:30 pm: Mass
- 08:00 – 10:00 pm: Banquet
Plenary: the plenary will be a Q&A with a well-known North American storyteller followed for an introduction to the topic of the conference
Session #1: TV, Journalism/Press, Communication Officers, Radio and Social Media
This session will be around promoting Stories of Hope. Two global case studies and one case study from North America will be presented. The idea is to learn from each other’s struggles as Catholic media professionals promoting stories of hope to different audiences.
Session #2: Management/business, spirituality, education, content/creativity and production.
In this session, different aspects of and trends in the different themes (and looking at various media) will be presented regarding the experiences that Catholic media professionals have globally and in North America. It aims to give the participants food for thought (and action).
Session #3: TV, Journalism/Press, Communication Officers, Radio and Social Media
This session will help participants to create an action plan to maintain relationships.
