SIGNIS celebrates 90 years of collaboration between Catholic communicators in Leuven
Porto Alegre, Brazil, March 14th, 2018 (SIGNIS-ALC). "Media consumption in the era of the digital market and liquid modernity" is the theme of the first communication congress organized by SIGNIS Brazil to be held from August 31 to September 2, 2018. The event will take place in Porto Alegre.
During the Congress, several activities will be developed, such as round tables, conferences, symposiums, conferences, commissions, panels and dialogues. "It will also be an interesting place to stay abreast of what is happening in the communications sector," says SIGNIS Brazil President João Carlos Romanini, adding that "the full program will be available soon, as well as registration for participation in the Congress ".
SIGNIS Brazil wants to host the SIGNIS World Congress in 2021
The announcement of this Brazilian congress was made during a meeting of the board of SIGNIS Brazil. During this meeting, it was also decided to apply to host the SIGNIS World Congress and the general assembly of the organization, which will take place in 2021.
"SIGNIS Brazil today has more than 100 affiliate and individual associate groups, specialists in various fields of communication, partners who manage teams of producers, journalists, editors and others. About 2000 professionals are associated with SIGNIS, with this we believe that we have the capacity to organize and host the World Congress," reveals Romanini.
The President of SIGNIS Brazil also encouraged members to share in their media the message of Pope Francis for the World Social Communications Day to be held this year on May 13th on the theme: "The truth will set you free. (John 8, 32): Fake news and journalism of peace”.
