SIGNIS India reflects on the impact of media on society in the context of growing intolerance
Berlin, October, 24th, 2017 (Prix Europa). For the 31st edition of the festival, media professionals from all over Europe are congregating in Berlin, in order to select the best European TV-, Radio- and Online productions of the year. A total of 14 prizes are awarded in 10 different categories. In addition, the distinction “European Journalist of the Year” is accorded for the first time.
14 joyous winners were awarded a bronze Taurus Trophy at the prize giving ceremony on Friday 20 October 2017.Amongst the winners, we can find the Belgian documentary Food for Thought, the French programme Church: Code of Silence, or the Dannish online programme The Class. PRIX EUROPA was founded 1987. Every year the influential tri-media festival honours the best TV-, Radio- and Online productions from the European continent. The festival distinguishes itself from similar events through its big open jury groups. The winners are determined in open-ended debates and through individual voting.
The festival PRIX EUROPA is supported by an alliance of 19 European media organizations, as well as the European Commission and the European Broadcasting Union. The current President of PRIX EUROPA is Cecilia Benkö Lamborn, Director General of SVERIGES RADIO.
